Next Step College Admissions and Career Consulting's mission is help students navigate all aspects of the college search, college admission and financial aid application processes, and to help them find the best academic, emotional, social and financial college fit. Included in that mission is to skillfully guide students in discovering and becoming viable candidates for 'best fit' colleges and universities. 

While most of the population our educational consultants serve are high school students, other populations our consultants seek to serve are college students trying to decide upon a major or a career, as well as adults who are looking for a new career. Many people are seeking career changes in this day and age, but don't know how to go about making the change. Next Step College Admissions and Career Consulting is here to help you make that step!

Founder and owner, Barbara Bear, Psy.D., is a former college admissions rater and scorer at Duke University, a licensed psychologist who has worked at five college campuses across the country, and is an executive coach for Fortune 500 company senior managers and directors. She also has a private psychological practice in which she mainly works with adolescents, college students and women's issues. 

Through all of these experiences, Dr. Bear is a great resource who has had the unique combination of professional expertise in several areas and the benefit of seeing the process of college and career selection from various perspectives. From the high schooler at the beginning of the journey of course selection, to the high school junior trying to decide where to apply to college, to the parent of a high schooler who is confused about the college admissions process and financial aid forms, to the burned out executive who has decided to leave the corporate world, to the stay-at-home mom who is ready to return to the workforce, Next Step College Admissions and Career Consulting is here to help!
